Whether it is logistics, chemical engineering or food technology: the more complex the plant, the more elaborate the creation of corresponding layout or pipeline plans - a high demand on designers. 3-D models are getting more and more important in plant design.

HiCAD neXt plant design enables you to plan design and create technical plants for plant design. There are several functions designed for this branch in particular. The corresponding automatisms ease the design process considerably. From sketch via planning to the finished plant - there is an optimal support in every stage of the planning. The plant design scene is available as a 3-D model and can be shaded and moved in space if required, creating an immediate realistic impression of the finished design.

3-D Plant Design
There are special functions for the layout and pipeline planning as well as functions for the automatic creation of pipe isometrics.

Numerous automatisms support your daily work, e.g. when allocating guide lines, disconnecting pipes or when changing the nominal widths of an allocated pipeline. You can create assembly-, quantity- or structure parts lists by simply pressing a button, the pipe isometry will automatically be derived. This includes dimensions, component and welding seam position numbers with the appropriate configurable parts lists as well as connection coordinates and flow direction arrows. A large number of tools, as well as the complete HiCAD 3-D functionality are available to process components.

Integrated PDM Component
The integrated component database, based on the PDM system HELiOS leads to the full functionality of this branch solution. An effective administration and data consistency for all data and documents belonging to a project is also guaranteed for complex plants this way.

P&I Designs
The P&ID (Piping & Instrumentation) module offers an ideal supplement to 3-D plant design. This module enables you to create structured flow-charts and detailed representations of the instrumentation in plant design. The creation of layout and pipeline plans can be made even more efficient by coupling both modules. It is possible, for example to position plant components and pipelines based on data of the P&I Design.
